“Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable. As a novice tequila drinker from the United States, I found it fascinating to learn about the traditions of tequila, how it originated, and how it has evolved over time. Ricardo walked us through every step of the process — from the history and families who first created tequila, to the marketing and branching out of some of the most famous producers. The tasting itself was an incredible experience. Sampling different tequilas back-to-back was eye-opening, as it allowed us to truly notice the differences in quality, flavor profiles, and styles. Ricardo was very attentive, patient, and thorough in answering all of our questions. Overall, this was…”

“What a great day! So many different experiences in one day. The butterfly garden is a new attraction. They provided so much good information and an interactive butterfly experience. The driver, Caesar, and guide, “Betito” (as my travel companion called him) we both just awesome. Beto (Omberto) was great fun, but more important he was committed to making the best experience for each of the guests. The beach was beautiful. The tequila tasting was great fun and no pressure unlike some I have been to. Beto made it just as fun for non drinkers. The day was just delightful.”

Mezcal and Mole by a Certified Sommelier Mexico City

9.Mezcal and Mole by a Certified Sommelier Mexico City

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 42 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $86

In Mexico City’s Roma Norte, a sommelier guides you through seven mezcals paired with seven vegan-friendly Oaxacan moles. Learn how agave, roasting, distillation, and spices shape each pairing. The two-hour tasting is intimate, English-speaking, and ends at Mezcal y Mole CDMXC.

“The mole and mezcal were amazing and it was very interesting to explore the flavors produced by different agaves. The presenter was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the venue really interfered with the experience. It was in a small room with all hard surfaces and no sound baffling. About 12 people drinking mezcal and talking loudly was an intense cacophony that made it hard to hear the presenter or even the person sitting next to me. This is a big defect but the content was very good.”
